What Is a Condenser?
A condenser is a key component of a car air conditioning system. It cools the high-pressure, high-temperature refrigerant gas from the compressor and converts it into a high-pressure liquid. At the same time, it releases the heat carried by the refrigerant into the outside air.
The a/c car condenser condenser mainly consists of refrigerant tubes and heat-dissipating fins, while a cooling fan helps move air through the condenser and improve heat transfer.

How Does It Work?
As its name suggests, the main function of the a/c car condenser is to condense the refrigerant and release the heat it carries. As an essential component of an automotive air conditioning system, the condenser plays a crucial role in maintaining an efficient refrigeration cycle and ensuring proper cooling performance.

Types of AC Condenser Cores
There are three main types of automotive AC condenser cores commonly found in the market: Tube-and-Fin, Serpentine, and Parallel-Flow.
Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages. With advances in technology and the development of modern vehicles, traditional tube-and-fin condenser cores are gradually being replaced by more efficient designs. Parallel-flow condensers are becoming increasingly popular due to their excellent heat-transfer performance and competitive cost.

Aluminum vs. Copper Condenser Cores
Automotive AC condenser cores are commonly made with either aluminum or copper tubes. The difference between copper and aluminum is not simply the material itself—it can also affect heat-transfer performance, weight, corrosion resistance, cost and manufacturing processes.
