FAQ

What types of car AC refrigerant does Anchor Group Supply?

We offer a variety of automotive refrigerants suitable for different cooling systems. Below is a list of the refrigerants we wholesale:

  1. R22 – A widely used refrigerant for air conditioning and refrigeration systems, though it is being phased out due to its ozone-depleting potential.
  2. R134A – A popular alternative to R12, used in automotive and residential air conditioning systems as a non-ozone-depleting refrigerant.
  3. R410A – A blend of R32 and R125, commonly used in residential and commercial air conditioning systems. It is more energy-efficient and has a higher cooling capacity.
  4. R407C – A refrigerant blend of R32, R125, and R134A, commonly used in air conditioning systems and commercial refrigeration.
  5. R32 – A single-component refrigerant with lower global warming potential (GWP) compared to other refrigerants like R410A, making it an eco-friendly option for air conditioning.
  6. R404A – A refrigerant blend used in low-temperature refrigeration systems, often in commercial freezers and cold storage.
  7. R507A – A non-ozone-depleting refrigerant blend, commonly used in medium and low-temperature refrigeration systems as a replacement for R502.
  8. R600A – A natural refrigerant (isobutane) with low GWP, commonly used in household refrigerators and small commercial refrigeration applications.
  9. R290 – Another natural refrigerant (propane) used in refrigeration systems, with a very low GWP and suitable for eco-friendly and energy-efficient applications.
Is A/C refrigerant for Cars suitable for all types of cooling systems?

Each automotive refrigerant is designed for specific types of air conditioning, refrigeration, or cooling systems. Please consult with our team to determine the best refrigerant for your particular needs and system specifications.

Why switch to 1234yf?

Because R-1234yf has a much lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) and is more environmentally friendly.

What is the AC Refrigerant?

AC refrigerant is a special ac cooling liquid used in an air conditioning system to absorb and release heat, allowing the system to produce cool air. It circulates between the compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and evaporator, changing between gas and liquid states to transfer heat from inside the vehicle cabin to the outside environment.

In automotive air conditioning systems, the car ac refrigerant absorbs heat from the cabin air through the evaporator and releases the heat through the condenser, creating a comfortable cooling effect for passengers.

How to Add Refrigerant to Car?

  1. Find the Low-Pressure Port
Locate the low-pressure service port on the AC system and remove the cap.
  2. Check AC Pressure
Connect the gauge, start the engine, turn on the AC to maximum cooling, and check the pressure.
  3. Add Refrigerant
Connect the refrigerant can to the low-pressure port and slowly add refrigerant while monitoring the gauge.
  4. Check Cooling Performance
Monitor the vent temperature and stop charging when the AC reaches the recommended pressure and cooling level.
  5. Test the AC System
Disconnect the charging kit, replace the port cap, and confirm the AC is blowing cold air properly.

Note: Always check for leaks before recharging and use the correct refrigerant type for your vehicle.

What Happens If a Car AC Is Overcharged with Refrigerant?

An overcharged car AC system can cause excessive pressure, poor cooling performance, compressor overload, and frequent compressor cycling. To fix it, the excess refrigerant should be safely recovered using professional tools such as a refrigerant recovery machine and manifold gauge set. After recovery, check that the system pressure returns to the manufacturer’s recommended range.
